Healing the past so it stops showing up in your present
Adult Psychotherapy
Life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, affecting emotional well-being, relationships, work performance, physical health, and overall life satisfaction. Adults may seek therapy for anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, burnout, self-esteem difficulties, trauma, or challenges with emotional regulation.
Mental health concerns often extend beyond emotional symptoms and can impact multiple areas of life. Individuals may experience difficulties in relationships, decreased productivity at work, disrupted sleep, chronic stress, physical tension, reduced motivation, or a diminished sense of purpose and fulfillment.
Adult psychotherapy provides a confidential and supportive space to explore these challenges while identifying meaningful goals for growth and change. Therapy helps individuals gain insight into patterns that may be contributing to distress, develop healthier coping strategies, and strengthen emotional resilience.
Treatment may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Trauma-Informed approaches. These modalities help clients better understand themselves, navigate challenges more effectively, improve relationships, and create lasting positive change.
Adult Trauma Therapy
Trauma can leave lasting effects long after a difficult experience has passed. Whether resulting from childhood experiences, abuse, neglect, relationship trauma, accidents, loss, medical events, or other overwhelming situations, trauma can influence emotional, physical, and relational well-being throughout adulthood.
Adults who have experienced trauma may struggle with anxiety, depression, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, relationship challenges, intrusive memories, chronic stress, sleep disturbances, or a persistent feeling of being stuck. These symptoms can affect work performance, family relationships, physical health, and overall quality of life.
Trauma therapy focuses on helping individuals understand how past experiences continue to impact the present while creating a safe foundation for healing. Treatment is individualized and paced according to each person’s needs, emphasizing safety, empowerment, and long-term recovery.
Evidence-based approaches may include EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Attachment-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic approaches. These modalities help individuals process traumatic experiences, reduce distressing symptoms, strengthen self-compassion, improve relationships, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and emotional freedom.
You may notice trauma showing up as:
- Anxiety, hypervigilance, irritability, or emotional numbness
- Difficulty trusting, overthinking, or people-pleasing
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or your body
- Relationship patterns that repeat or feel unsafe
- Trouble sleeping, nightmares, or chronic stress
- Flashbacks, triggers, or memories that feel intrusive
- Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re “just surviving”
